Life is infinitely varied and wonderfully one basic attitude allows us to fully enjoy it - and that is selflessness. But this is hard to believe and practice because the release is first felt as if we were missing something
we love and we would enjoy it permanently.
The problem is the illusion of permanence. First, we imagine that what we want is permanent. And then we make an even bigger mistake trying to make permanent our possession of what is not permanent. This moves us away from the reality of what we want and replace it with an unrealistic image that causes us to increasing levels of suffering that finally dissolves as a vapor cloud that actually is. Then we feel that we lost what we wanted most. We weep and moan even though we lost only the image, the thing we saw as having a permanence that has nothing in the universe. We do not have a lasting city, says St. Paul.
loss is itself a kind of illusion - the illusion but painful because it certainly has the power to cause pain. The illusory nature of loss is still hard to believe. Even facing the facts, shows that what we are losing is our attachment to something or someone, not the thing or the person himself. This may feel like we're starting something real, cruel and violent. Recovering loss - always a kind of death - it takes time and can occupy much place in our lives until finally the obvious truth makes us fall into reality. During these days we are preparing to release the three days of Easter, during which we have the opportunity to understand the real nature of death.
confuse detachment with loss is the reason why we are afraid of death and repeat the same patterns of our mistakes in life. Trying to own the freshness and beauty of the moment is like trying to
give life to a statue or a picture. As William Blake said, we must learn to kiss the joy as well as is and live in a dawn eternal. The forty days of Lent are dedicated to understanding this in our daily experience.

How Much Horsepower Does My Straight Six Have
Sunday March 20, 2011
"Today's Gospel describes the transfiguration of Jesus before three of his closest disciples when" He was transfigured before them, his face shone like the sun and his clothes became as white as the light. "Lent is a time to purify the heart's eye, through which we see this kind of light.
In the spiritual realm that always absorbs the outside and brings it inward, toward a higher level of being. The body remains a body but it becomes a spiritual body. The mind remains conscious but at a level of consciousness that transcends the ego and duality.
This gospel account of an experience of enlightenment, we see a manifestation of true nature that does not invalidate the material world nor the relationship as a human experience. This event did not happen when Jesus was alone but was accompanied by his most trusted companions.
is difficult for us to rely on the pure vision of God, not on an object - the meaning of illumination - not a disembodied and occurs in an abstract reality. In fact, we are embodied and remain so as long as we exist - to eternity - although the way our bodies change.
And what is our own potential for transformation.

Backpacking With Dslr
Sunday Reading 13 March 2011 Friday
Life presents us with different facets of reality, and always unpredictable sequence. Take a bus or decide to change our apartment can be a little trivial events meaning, or may become a milestone in our lives because of the consequences that these events bring. random and unconscious element of life is beyond our control. If embody this chance - or karma - as God or Devil , because the consequences seem good or bad at the moment, perhaps we can enjoy the short relief instant explanation of what is happening. But we lose the meaning, and therefore, we lose the truth that frees us from illusion.
Jesus was led into the wilderness for forty days and was tempted - tested - for what are clearly powerful ego progress. Self-reliance, pride and power are seductive voices at any time, but especially when we are in the desert. This is a place of exposure and vulnerability where our self-centered family identities are suspended and where the raw face undisguised selfishness and self-survival. The ego naked, even our own selfishness, repels the conscious mind. So disguise it, deny it or refuse to accept the responsibility to our selfishness by demonizing it as if it were an external force to us.
According to the stories of the Gospels, Jesus faced his own ego without flinching, she saw through him and recognized his voice as illusory. Once we have seen through our self-generated illusion, are free. Even if he returns to try again, we will be stronger in identifying and resisting. Each test makes us more real. After the test we can relax for a little while, and through the natural and ordinary circumstances of our lives, we are touched by a power that renews and consoles.
"Then the devil left him, and angels came and took care of him."
Prayer, the third great practice of the Christian life is a desert. Their job is to face our illusions and things become more real.

Religion without praxis is hypocrisy. In Greek, the word hints at what makes the free. Involves putting theory into practice and good intentions. Spiritually, it means living at the level of experience. In practice, we embarked on a process, rather than simply pointing at a target. Agreed to work with our own imperfections - because, however good it might be our practice, our goal is to achieve self-perfection. This would fall into the trap of ego.
This process is practical, yes, but also quite subtle, since it involves the purification of our motivation. As we set off, spiritually, egocentric strength of our reasons is gradually reduced. Little by little, we find ourselves doing good simply because we are improving; for the sake of good
rather than our own satisfaction. Virtue is its own reward. We love God for God's sake, not for what we could draw from a special relationship with Him If this seems too abstract to them, apply it to their changing motivation to meditate for a period of time, and see clearer what I mean.
Christian spirituality identifies three forms of praxis that are particularly relevant for people who want to get something for Lent: fasting, almsgiving and prayer.
Some people fast or refrain from eating meat during Lent - Fasting usually involves taking a single main meal day and do not snack between meals. But fasting can be applied to other areas, in addition to the food. We can reduce our intake of other consumer goods, or what we eat in the media, or habits that could easily become compulsive, like television, text messaging, Internet, the use of the iPod, magazines, unnecessary purchases ... Through meditation we come to the root cause of any imbalance and extremism
through the essential spiritual practice to "make our center to others" (Becoming other-center). For it makes us feel better, because we can experience the true meaning of kindness.

Today you can see people on the bus or on the subway or waiting
next to the copier with a stain on the front. Seeing them is like watching someone
meditate at the airport or in the waiting room, see a travel companion
the spiritual path, not just strangers passing in the night. It is no secret signal
or an exclusive club, yet few people understand it.
receive ashes as a reminder not to waste time.
"Remember you are dust and to dust you shall return. Repent and believe in the Gospel
. "
Strangely these words spoken by placing the ashes
bring comfort and hope because they remind us of an easily forgotten truth, a truth that bothers
our easy-to-denying culture. We gorge with
images of death and violence as entertainment, but ignore
true considering it as morbid.
spiritual tradition teaches us to be aware of death we
enhances the vivid contrasts in life and our ability to live fully. The ash
our front is a reminder that the only way to live, really live
is at present.
any fleeting moment of time, past or future is lost or wasted when
experience in this.
Lent begins today. This is the opportunity to engage in new and renewal
as spiritual beings in the human journey. If you received the ashes
not make the sign of the cross on your forehead, or ask for it to a friend,
repeating the words that are designed to awaken. If you meditate
renew your commitment to stillness and silence every morning and evening. If you
started and stopped, start again. If you have not started,
not wasted any time.
